Intermezzo - Sally Rooney
Sally Rooney, famed author of Normal People and Talking with Strangers is back for what is one of the most anticipated fiction novels of the year!
Releasing 24th September, Intermezzo is a moving page-turner tackling the topics of grief, love and family from the perspective of two brothers.
Aside from blood, Peter and Ivan Koubek have very little in common. Peter is a Dublin based lawyer in his thirties - successful, competent and unshakeable. But in the wake of his father's death, he's struggling - both with a heavy reliance on medicating himself to sleep, and juggling his relationships with two - very different - women.
Ivan is a twenty-one year old competitive chess player - lonely and socially awkward - he is the antithesis of his brother. But in the early weeks of his bereavement, he meets Margaret, an older woman running from her own turbulent past. Soon their lives become intensely intertwined.
Frankie - Graham Norton
A heartfelt story of memory and human connection from bestselling author and national treasure Graham Norton.
Frankie Howe has lived a long life and her small London flat is crammed full of art, furniture and memories. Damian, her young carer, listens as she gradually tells him parts of her story - a story that takes us into a progressive, daring world of New York artists on the brink of fame, aspiring writers and larger-than-life characters.
Always just on the periphery, looking on, young Frankie is never quite sure enough of herself to take centre stage. But the outsider holds certain advantages, sees things others don't, can influence without drawing attention.
And when the map has been lost, it's anyone's guess where you may end up, or the accidental choices you find you have made. Frankie discovers that life is not always the one we hope for, or the one others expect of us.
What a Way to Go - Bella Mackie
From the author if How To Kill Your Family comes another witty and dark tale of dysfunctional families in the world of the uber wealthy.
Anthony Wistern is wealthy beyond imagination. He has a beautiful wife and the family he always hoped for, not to mention a French chateau, a Cotswolds manor – and a plethora of willing mistresses.
He’s also adept at cutting moral corners and turning a blind eye to the unscrupulous behaviour of his spoilt, inheritance hungry children and the others he has surrounded himself with. Unfortunately for him, he’s also dead.
Suddenly poised to inherit his fortune, each member of the family falls under suspicion. And that’s when everything comes gloriously crashing down!
Think HBO's Succession and you are half way there!
Before the Coffee Gets Cold - Toshikazu Kawaguchi
Tucked in a small back alley in the heart of Tokyo, there is a cafe that has been serving carefully brewed coffee for over one hundred years. But more than just hot beverages, this coffee shop offers it's customers a unique experience - the chance to travel back in time.
In this novel, sure to become a cult-classic, we meet four visitors, each of whom is hoping to make use of this incredible travel for their own reasons - to confront a man who left them, receive a letter from their husband whose memory is slowly being taken with Alzheimer's, to see their sister for one last time, and to meet the daughter they never got the chance to know.
But the journey does not come without risks, and they must return to the present before the coffee gets cold...
Hum - Helen Phillips
Cementing her position as one of the most profound writers of speculative fiction, comes this sleek and intoxicating book by Helen Phillips.
In a hot and gritty city populated by super-intelligent robots called 'Hums', May seeks some reprieve from recent hardships and from her family's addiction to their devices.
She splurges on a weekend away at the Botanical Garden - a rare, green refuge in the heart of the city, where forests, streams and animals flourish. But when it becomes clear that the Garden is not the idyll she hoped it would be, and her children come under threat, May is forced to put her trust in a Hum of uncertain motives in order to restore the life of her family.
Gripping and unflinching, Hum is about our most cherished human relationships in a world compromised by climate change and dizzying technological revolution, a world with both dystopian and utopian possibilities.
Fans of Huxley's A Brave New World will love this dystopian book!

From the author of the #1 New York Times bestselling book and Reese's Book Club Pick The last Thing He Told Me, comes this thrilling new release from Laura Dave.
Merging both riveting mystery and epic love story, The Night We Lost Him centres around Liam Noone.
To the public, he was an exacting, self-made hotel magnate, to his three ex-wives, he was a loving yet distant family man with flush finances and a carefully separated family. To Nora, he was a father who loved her from afar - notably a cliffside cottage from which he fell to his death.
The authorities rule his death as accidental, but Nora and her estranged brother Sam have other ideas. As they form a fragile alliance to unravel the mystery, they begin to put together the pieces of their father's past - and uncover a family secret that threatens to change everything they thought they knew.
