Pancake Inspiration

My earliest memories of Shrove Tuesday were platefuls of thin crepe pancakes being tossed in the air with varying success, lashings of sugar and large squeezes of lemon plus pips all rolled up in a long tube of deliciousness. Eating pancakes until my tummy hurt always wanting more.

Not much has changed in the 40 plus years and my love of pancakes hasn’t dwindled. Crepes are still my favourite but if you ask my children, they would associate pancakes to the all American stack with glugs of maple syrup and rashers of bacon.
Whatever way you enjoy on your pancakes, we have asked Team Biscuit for their favourites and they haven’t disappointed in their choice of delicious toppings.

If you ask me some of these should be in an Ottelenghi recipe book or on the cover of Food magazine!!
Emelia’s savoury pancakes with caramelised red onion, chorizo and spinach with mushrooms.

These are my pancakes below, stuffed with onion, bacon and mushrooms and put under the grill with a good sprinkling of Emmental cheese.

Marie’s look terribly professional with rose and pistachios.

Below are Lucy’s dark chocolate chip.

Karen has made us pancakes with manuka honey and mango whilst Rachel below made hers with bacon and caramelised banana.

Last but not least Sarah’s stack that she made for little Alfie were smothered in grated chocolate and maple syrup.

However you like yours, I hope you have fun flipping your pancakes this coming Tuesday.
