Biscuit Travels: Easter Holidays in Cornwall

Every year for my childrens lifetime, my lifetime and even my fathers, we have spent a week in a small out of the way hamlet on a creek in south Cornwall. I would name it but because it is still so unspoilt I am going to be selfish and not reveal it locality for fear of it changing. Living it Scotland for the past 11 years, we have driven the 12 hour drive religiously to spend time in this magical county with hoards and I mean hoards of family. This year was no exception but only 22 of us which is the lowest we have been.

I cannot help but be inspired by the wonder of the place, the rugged coastline, the patchwork fields of cows and daffodils, the small thatched cottages huddled together in the valleys. And what with the amazing beaches made famous by that gorgeous hunk of a man Poldark, what more do we want??

Inspired by the fishing community that is still very much alive in Cornwall. Watching the catch hauled in off the beach, crab and lobster (we even caught one for our supper!!) for the local businesses was fun.

The above photos are from our day in St Ives, trawling the small shops in the higgledy lanes behind the harbour. Loving the breton stripe top sign from Joules and the clever wallpaper on the stairs in Cream Cornwall. Such fun!!
