In the heart of the Scottish countryside, where rolling hills meet vast skies, the small team at Biscuit Clothing embarked on an enchanting journey to capture the essence of our SS25/Pre-Autumn 2025 collection. Our chosen venue, The Free Company in Edinburgh, provided an idyllic backdrop that perfectly complemented Biscuit's signature style—feminine, quirky, and imbued with a touch of rustic charm. This blog post delves into the captivating experience of the photoshoot, exploring the collection's theme, the harmonious blend of fashion and nature, and the unique allure of The Free Company as a perfect photo-ready setting.

Themes : Movement and Stylish Layering

For the SS25/Pre-Autumn 2025 collection, we aim to celebrate the beauty of movement and the comforting embrace of warm layers. This season, the collection showcases a delightful juxtaposition of airy dresses and delicate blousing paired with snug layers—an ode to the unpredictable Scottish weather! Picture flowing silhouettes dancing in the breeze, interspersed with cozy knits, blankets and scarves that wrap the wearer in warmth and style.

The collection is a testament to Biscuit's commitment to creating and showcasing outfits that are both feminine and functional. Each garment is thoughtfully designed to offer versatility, allowing wearers to seamlessly transition from the lightness of spring to the crispness of autumn. The inclusion of wellies and woven ballet flats adds a playful touch, capturing the spirit of adventure and the joy of exploration that defines the modern Biscuit woman.

We are confident that the photoshoot at The Free Company captured the enduring energy and playfulness at Biscuit - with each frame telling a story of elegance and charm. The models, adorned in our latest arrivals, exuded a sense of joy and confidence, embodying the ethos of celebrating one's own style and story.

The Setting: The Free Company, Edinburgh

Nestled just outside Edinburgh, The Free Company is more than just a venue; it is a living testament to the values of sustainability, community, and creativity. Founded on the principles of ethical farming and conscious living, The Free Company is a working farm that embodies a holistic approach to life. With its commitment to regenerative agriculture and zero-waste practices, it serves as a beacon of inspiration for those who seek to live in harmony with the land.

The farm's ethos of community and sustainability aligns seamlessly with Biscuit's dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Not only did this rugged and rural setting provide a breathtaking backdrop for the photoshoot, but also offered a tangible connection to the values that both the venue and the Biscuit brand hold dear. The synergy between Biscuit's fashion-forward pieces and the rustic elegance of The Free Company created a visual narrative that is as meaningful as it is beautiful.

Capturing the essence of the Scottish countryside

The Scottish countryside, with its stunning landscapes and ever-changing weather, set the stage for a photoshoot that celebrated the spirit of the land. The natural beauty of the surroundings served as a canvas for each item of clothing, highlighting the intricate details and vibrant colours of the collection. From the soft pastels of cow parsley to the earthy tones of the fields, the landscape echoed the palette of the collection, creating a harmonious blend of fashion and nature.

As the models moved gracefully through the fields, the fluidity of the dresses mirrored the gentle sway of the grass in the breeze. The addition of wellies and woven ballet flats grounded the looks, offering a nod to practicality while maintaining an air of whimsy sophistication. This interplay of textures and layers captured the essence of the Biscuit woman—confident, playful, and effortlessly chic.

Central to the collection is the theme of movement. Each piece is designed to flow with the body, allowing for freedom and expression. The photoshoot at The Free Company beautifully encapsulated this theme, with the models' movements bringing the garments to life against the backdrop of the rural backdrop. The dresses, with their billowy silhouettes and delicate fabrics, moved like poetry in motion, capturing the light and reflecting the natural beauty of the surroundings. Layered with cozy knitwear and structured jackets, the collection offers a tactile experience—an invitation to touch, feel, and immerse oneself in the warmth of the materials.

The Biscuit A Team

We work with a tight team at Biscuit which allows us to truly understand and hone the Biscuit brand vision. Each of our photoshoots start with Biscuit founder Amanda's vision and styling. Never stiff or overly serious, this always incorporates colour and playfulness - from boat hats to washing lines (that's all you are getting until the images are back)!

Luckily, we have found an amazing photographer who just get's this vision. The wonderful Emilia Barclay thrives not only behind the lense, but also whilst capturing imagery within the natural environment. A visionary and incredible creative partner to have on board at all Biscuit Photoshoots - see more of her incredible work here!

Then comes the planning and execution which couldn't be done without the core office team - from Rachel to Jasmyn and Yaning - who spend long hours picking garments, steaming them, packing them and transporting them to the various shoot locations!

And lastly, but by no means least, our incredible models, Erin and Grace who bring the Biscuit vision to life. Always smiling and always up for a challenge - whether scaling hay, juggling apples or cradling livestock!
